Hi there, my name is Darien and I am the creator of The Nail Channel! I am a certified gel X nail technician from Vancouver, Canada and have doing nails since 2020, when we couldn't go to salons due to the pandemic. I began doing my own, my friends, and my families nails during the pandemic and built my own DIY Amazon polygel starter kit with products I love like so many other nail techs now. I fell in love with the satisfaction of the way I did nails myself, rather than how I was getting them done in the salon: I perfected how crisp I like my shaping, I perfected sculpting and the thickness of product, and most importantly ART.

I began doing my own nail art that I couldn't ask for at a salon, whether it be a painted design, chrome, 3D gel or charms. As a way of practicing more artwork and taking in clients with the encouragement of my boyfriend I began selling luxury custom, soft gel press on nails (which you can order by DMing me on IG @the.nail.channel) early in 2023. Press ons became my gateway to gel X, and it was a game changer. From what I was researching online, gel X cut so much time off of doing a full set compared to a sculpted polygel set and it also looked way easier to apply to the nails - it's almost like applying a press on is what I thought. So I saved to take a course and get certified, and here I am today.
